Meet Indy 500 Historian
Meet Indianapolis 500 historian Donald Davidson at a reception and book presentation Wednesday, April 13th, 2:00 to 3:00 pm. Davidson made his first visit to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in 1964, served as statistician for USAC for 31 years and has been the official historian of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway since 1998.

Read the Jay County Reads 2016 selection Shakespeare Saved My Life: 10 years in solitary with the Bard by Laura Bates and come discuss your impressions with other members of the community. Plan to stay for the presentation by the author that follows.

Meet Laura Bates, author of Shakespeare Saved My Life: 10 years in solitary with the Bard, the book chosen for Jay County Reads 2016. She will talk about her experience teaching Shakespeare in a maximum security prison. Her visit is made possible through Indiana Humanities and Novel Conversations Speakers Program.
