Interactive STREAM studio is back! Purdue Extension 4-H & JCPL are hosting an Interactive STREAM Studio for youth in grades 3-6 at the library on the first and second Wednesdays of each month. Bloomfield and East Jay students meet on the first Wednesday, while Redkey and West Jay students meet on the second Wednesday. Homeschooled and privately-educated students may join as well! The event is free, will be held in the Community Room from 3:00-4:30 p.m., and space is limited. Students will learn about science, technology, reading, engineering, art, and math through a hands-on process of making. We will be using a variety of STEM equipment, such as micro:bits, a 3D printer, MYNT3D 3D pens, Sphero bots, and more. There will also be unplugged activities to teach engineering, design, and computational thinking processes. Students may also have the opportunity to meet adults who use STEM in their careers. *Please be aware we will be using a 3D printer, 3D pens, robots, computers, and other valuable equipment. Appropriate conduct is a must! Your child can be dismissed from the program if failure to follow the rules occurs. *It is recommended students bring a Chromebook or other personal device. Registration forms will be available at the library. Please complete and turn in registration by Tuesday, September 24 for the Bloomfield/East Jay Students or Tuesday, October 1 for Redkey/West Jay Students to Purdue Extension office or the library.
